ISLAMABAD (Muslim Times) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on on Sunday concluded consultation on issuance of visas to foreign observers for general elections 2018.
As per details garnered, the consultative huddles were held with with interior ministry, foreign ministry, law enforcement agencies, and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). The electoral body has directed departments concerned to issue visas to foreign observers at earliest.
A high-level meeting in this regard was held at ECP headquarters here in Islamabad today in which the tenure of stay of foreign observers in Pakistan was determined.
Foreign observers will be allowed to stay in Pakistan for up to six weeks. Meanwhile, code of conduct for foreign observers will be issued soon.
General elections 2018 are all set to be held on July 25.
