SEHWAN (Muslim Times) – The 766th Urs celebrations at the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar begun in Sehwan Sharif on Saturday.
Adviser to the Chief Minister Sindh on Auqaf and Religious Affairs Syed Ghulam Shah Jilani visited the shrine and inaugurated the three-day Urs by laying chador on the grave.
A large number of devotees from all the four provinces and foreign countries have arrived in the city to participate in annual Urs.
Most of them belong to Punjab and include men, women and children.
Strict security arrangements have been made at the shrine. At least 4500 police personnel and 300 Rangers officials have been deployed on duty. Walkthrough gates have also been installed at the entry points of the shrine.
Police has arrested two women and men for looting the female devotees of their earrings.
At least four people have died in Sehwan due to high temperatures and heat stroke. Following the incident, heat stroke ward have been established in Abdullah Shah medical institute.
