LAHORE (Muslim Times) – Pakistani singer Meesha Shafi’s legal counsel Barrister Muhammad Ahmad Pansota on Wednesday told that decision regarding taking legal action against singer and actor Ali Zafar will be taken today after meeting.
The counsel claimed that his client Meesha has proof of sexual harassment against Ali Zafar. He said that the course of action will be decided while keeping in view Ali’s reaction.
Earlier, the singer, in a recent Twitter post, had accused Ali Zafar of sexual harassment.
“I have been subjected, on more than one occasion, to sexual harassment of a physical nature at the hands of a colleague from my industry: Ali Zafar. These incidences did not happen when I was young. or just entering the industry. This happened to me despite the fact that I am an empowered, accomplished woman who is known for speaking her mind! This happened to me as a mother of two children,” she wrote.
Pakistan’s showbiz industry has been rattled by ‘harassment allegations’ levelled against Ali Zafar by renowned actress and singer Meesha Shafi.
Following initiation of #MeToo trend by Meesha Shafi in Pakistan, women from all formats of life are sharing their horrifying experiences and exploitation both at work place and at home.
