RAWALPINDI ( Muslim Times) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Bajwa on Friday signed the black warrants for seven terrorists involved in attacking the security forces.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Gen Bajwa approved the death sentences of these terrorists. The seven people were involed in planning and executing attacks on civilians, law enforcement officials and armed forces.
The names of terrorists were told to be Atlas Khan, Muhammad Yousaf Khan, Farhan, Khale Gul, Nazr Momin, Naik Mail Khan, and Akbar Ali. The terrorist attacks conducted by them martyred 85 people and injured 109 others.
ISPR told that the extension of military courts suffered delay. The military courts were established in January 2015.
It added that Gen Bajwa raised the matter of military courts in March 2017 and its duration will expire in 2019. The media cell of Pakistan Army said nothing has been done for quick provision of justice, insisting on the need for judicial reforms.
According to the statistics issued by ISPR, 56 terrorists have been hanged. 43 of these terrorists were issued death sentences after Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.
