Donald Trump violating US law by talking to world leaders

US President-elect Donald Trump is “violating the law” by making phone calls to world leaders and sending his children to meet with foreign officials before he officially takes office, says a political analyst.

Gordon Duff of Veterans Today made the comments in an interview with Press TV on Monday, when asked about US Secretary of State John Kerry who said Sunday that his department’s recommendations have no “value” in the eyes of Trump.

“We have not been contacted before any of these conversations. We have not been requested to provide talking points,” Kerry said, in an attempt to distance President Barack Obama’s administration from some of Trump’s phone calls that may anger longtime allies.

Trump risked China’s wrath on Friday, when he talked to Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen, a move that made him the first US president or president-elect to hold a conversation with Taiwan’s leader since severing ties with the territory in 1979.

He also called Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif an “amazing” leader during a phone conversation on Wednesday, a praise that was looked unfavorably by India, Pakistan’s arch-rival.

Duff said that “Trump is cutting the oath of government and he is not sworn in as president. That’s against the law in the United States; you’re not allowed to do that. He could be prosecuted for this, but obviously, that’s not going to happen.”

“He’s sent his kids out, particularly, Eric who is with Mr. Erodgan in Turkey, and he’s sent Donald Junior and Donald Junior’s entire experience is that Donald Junior once killed an elephant in a petting zoo, and that’s the kind of experience this young man has and these people have been sent out to meet with world’s leaders, to meet with leaders of military and even terrorist organization to cut deals, now the point being here is that these are not really experienced people,” he added.

“If he takes office, he can do what he wants, before he takes office he’s simply violating the law,” Duff concluded.
