Gunmen attack hotel in Mali, hold hostages

Unknown gunmen have attacked a hotel in the Malian capital, Bamako, and taken a number of people hostage.

Some 170 people are held hostage by a gunmen at the Radisson Blu hotel in Bamako.

“The Rezidor Hotel Group… is aware of the hostage-taking that is ongoing at the property today, 20th November 2015. As per our information two persons have locked in 140 guests and 30 employees,” the hotel chain company said in a statement.

Early reports say at least five people have been killed in the standoff.

A security source said earlier that police forces had arrived at the site and cordoned off the area. He also said that some 10 gunmen are believed to be inside the hotel.
